We are blessed to not only help people buy and sell homes, but through donating a portion of every sale to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity we help others experience the joy of home ownership as well.
As you may know, Habitat builds and rehabs homes throughout the Metropolitan area exclusively for people who can't afford a market house. Through Habitat those who can't qualify for conventional loans get a chance to contribute labor (sweat equity) in their new home and become true homeowners in our communities.
In 2015 over 17,000 volunteers worked to build or repair homes in the Twin Cities. 1,067 families purchased a Twin Cities Habitat home this past year. And with Habitat's A Brush with Kindness 1,780 families got to stay in their homes that needed significant repairs. These families typically include the elderly, veterans, people with disabilities and single parents.
Plus we get to work with Habitat staff here in the Twin Cities. These are folks who love what they do and the people they help.
So, thank you to the people who bought or sold homes through the HomeMSP Team this past year. You helped gift Habitat for Humanity so they could help 2,847 families purchase new homes or stay in their own homes. You and Habitat are truly making a difference in our community!
