We are lucky to have so many great family-owned restaurants and bistros featuring farm fresh food in the metro. The Italian bistro PRIMA is a unique marriage of a NYC chef and a dairy farmer's daughter who managed restaurants in many cities throughout the USA and came back to the farm. They now own, operate and live on their Waconia Family Farm which supplies PRIMA, a unique neighborhood bistro with one-of-a-kind rustic Italian cuisine.
We decided to dine in when we stopped for lunch in the middle of the afternoon recently and were rewarded with a deliciously fresh meal. I had a Tuscan chicken salad panini and my husband had an awesome burger with garlic parsley fries. This is the kind of restaurant it is worth living near… and also worth a stop if you are walking or biking the nearby Minnehaha Creek trail.
The creek is in a gorge where Prima is located, but there is a stairway up to street level at Lyndale not far from the restaurant. I love the creek trail during this stretch… you feel far from the city. Before long in either direction you come back up to street level. That day we followed the trail to Lake Harriet… Minneapolis is an awesome place to live! Check out homes for sale near Minnehaha Creek.
