Generations of Family in Windsor Green

Windsor Green tea party

In the last five years I have sold about 20 homes in Windsor Green and neighboring Birch Pond. What never ceases to amaze me about Windsor Green is how many families have lived there for generations, with so many family and friend connections scattered throughout the complex. People obviously love living there because they stay, sometimes leave and come back… and invite others to join them.

Here is the family story of a recent Windsor Green client…

I have known Windsor Green my whole life. My grandparents bought the unit at 189 Windsor Court in the 1970s, before I was born. As a child, I have fond memories of my time spent in Windsor Green. Our large family would gather each holiday at my grandparents' house. We loved having plenty of space for 30+ people to enjoy a sit-down holiday meal.

After dining, we kids would take over the basement for a while and then retreat to our park. Having the park right out back was so much fun for us, and it seemed we always had the place to ourselves. In the summer months, when we weren't up at the cabin we loved to come over to Grandma and Grandpa's to go swimming and play outside in the beautiful green space. It's safe to say that Windsor Green had plenty to offer me as a grandchild of a resident.

As children do, I grew up and began looking for a home of my own. My grandparents were approaching their 80s and had decided to downsize, so I decided to purchase the home from them in 2004. As a young, single woman, I quickly learned to appreciate the maintenance provided by the Windsor Green Association. Never did I have to scramble to find someone to look after or care for my property if I was leaving town. Between the association staff and the wonderful neighbors, I knew I didn't need to worry about leaving home for business or pleasure. I also grew to love the well-run association. There were never any surprise bills or sudden increases in dues. It is very nice having such predictable and affordable expenses when living on a budget!

After a few years, I got married and started a family of my own in Windsor Green. Our family continued to appreciate the ample space inside the town home. The layout is perfect for everyday life and for entertaining.  We have also continued to enjoy the lush grounds and two pools. This is such a unique feature to Windsor Green that other town homes really lack!

And not only do we have the incredible Windsor Green property to enjoy, but we are perfectly located within walking distance of four amazing parks, plus shopping and dining at Silver Lake Village!

  • Silverwood Park, a beautiful Three Rivers property, is just a short walk through Windsor Green and across the street (<0.5 miles)
  • Silver Oaks Park is our park, right out our back door.  Just as when I was a child, we still seem to have the place to ourselves whenever we visit.
  • Emerald Park is just a few blocks beyond Silver Oaks Park (<0.5 miles) and features a Splash Pad! It's been loads of fun for the kids!
  • Finally, Hansen Park is a nice destination for a longer family walk (~1.25 miles).
