Home of America’s Largest Private Company

The Twin Cities is ranked the 4th best metro for business and is well know as home of many Fortune 500 companies. What may not be as well known is that the Twin Cities is also the home of America's largest private company… Cargill, which would be a top 10 Fortune 500 company if it were not privately owned..

Cargill came to our attention with a recent client who worked for Cargill his whole career… and retired at age 79, only to be asked back as a consult while in his 80s! He is now in his 90s and, I think, finally retired for good. He is very proud of 'his' company, with good reason.

Cargill started with a small commodities rail station and grain storage facility in the late 1800's and grew to become a worldwide commodities giant with thousands of customers, employing 143,000 people in 67 countries. They are committed to feeding the world in a responsible way, reducing environmental impact and improving the communities where we live and work.  Cargill's importance to the Twin Cities area can not be overstated.  Not only do they employ thousands of people here, but their community and philanthropic involvement is truly inspiring.

The setting of their expansive Wayzata headquarters is gorgeous, with beautiful views and houses surrounding this large campus that is well hidden in the trees. With Lake Minnetonka's Gray's Bay right next door this is at the edge of lake country, where beautiful homes on stately grounds are abundant.

There is a mix of some older homes and new developments in the immediate Minnetonka and Wayzata neighborhoods. See homes for sale near Cargill (in the same zip code), Minnetonka homes for sale and Wayzata homes for sale.
