The Minneapolis Kingfield neighborhood not only has one of the best walk scores in the city, it also has one of the best collections of restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. Nicollet Avenue isn't called 'Eat Street' for nothing, and when my husband and I were looking for a new place to stop for breaksfast a few weeks ago Nicollet Avenue is where we headed.
When we saw Blackbird Cafe on the corner of 38th and Nicollet we decided to stop and were not disappointed! Homes in this area.
We loved the cozy neighborhood feel and the food was even better than we expected, deserving of the many kudos they have received from both press and satisfied diners. Everything is homemade including their own homemade sausages… and their yummy toast is from Patisserie 46, an outstanding Kingfield neighborhood bakery. Many small, local cafes/bakeries are either open early or late… Blackbird is both, open from 8 am to midnight Monday through Saturday, Sunday until 2 pm.
