We had an awesome dinner with a group of friends at Reve 324 Bistro & Bar last weekend. Located in the historic Grand Garage on the corner of Main Street and Olive in downtown Stillwater, the ambiance is spectacular and in the summer you can also dine on the charming front patio now filled with trees festively lit for the season.
I was impressed with the great variety of items on the menu… ranging from delicious salads and appetizers to pizzas and sandwiches as well as full entrees. Often when a resturant has such broad offerings in a bar setting the food isn't as great as the setting… not so in this case! There were seven of us for dinner, and everyone raved about both their food and beverage selections… which included martinis and cosmos, Belgian beer and wine.
My husband had an award-winning burger with blue cheese topped with an egg… he is a burger connisseur and said it was fabulous. I have a weak spot for squash ravioli and order it often… this was the best I have ever eaten! Although delicious, most squash ravioli I have had is quite heavy in both the pasta and the sauce… not this one! I marveled at how light and delicious both were, and also appreciated the chunks of squash in the sauce.
We were there on a weekend night when they have live music. One of the musicians joked that I was from the Pioneer Press when I snapped a photo with them performing.
This is a great destination for a date night, but it doesn't stop there… I was blown away when I saw their children's menu! I don't think I have ever seen a children's menu before that included all our grandkid favorites… mac and cheese, buttered noodles, kid-size burger and grilled cheese sandwich!
