What a difference an angled wall can make

Windowed nooks and crannies are what often make older homes so interesting. But angled walls and unexpected windows can make a big difference in homes of any age. Looking at the exterior of the home pictured below, you would never guess that the long, narrow glass block window is in an unusual nook bringing light into the lower level bathroom.

Bathroom addition

A straight wall would have meant no window in the bathroom and awkward television placement next to an alcove of windows in the family room. Angling a short wall between the two rooms created both a perfect angle for the television in the family room and a surprise corner window alcove with a greatly increased feeling of space in the bathroom.

It's amazing what a difference something small like an angled wall or a surprise window can make.
