Staging Your Home May Be Tax Deductible

It's that time of year and people are working on filing their taxes.

If you did sell your house last year and paid to have the home staged, don't forget to discuss this potential deduction with your Accountant.

Irs

There are several staging sites that say it is deductible as a marketing expense and I've heard this many times in the past.  While I don't give tax advice, I have had people say that they were able to deduct it.  So, it's definetely worth bringing it up to your Tax Accountant as a possible expense.

Here's a link of information at the IRS website, Publication 523.   http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p523.pdf   Please note that the document does not cover investment or rental properties.

Hope this helps with your taxes!
