For years I have been searching for an easier way to help buyers find homes for sale based on lifestyle criteria… like proximity to trails, coffee shops, schools, grocery stores, parks, etc. After finding a property you could figure out what was around it, but you couldn't search based on lifestyle criteria.
I figured this was a search whose time had come… and after doing some digging found Spatial Match headquartered in San Diego that was doing what I was looking for.
SpatialMatch is built differently from any other IDX solution on the market because it takes a consumer centric approach around lifestyle not a house first mentality. For years and even still now the primary search functions of the various website portals out there have focused on the home specifically. If you need to find a 2 bed 2 bath in a certain city or zip code and in a certain price range you are not short on options. However, what if schools, dining, amenities and proximity to public transit are the most important factors on your wish list as a buyer? Where would you look? There was not a solution out there, until SpatialMatch, that lets you start with lifestyle and end up on homes!
However, they didn't have trails… which was something I was specifically looking for. So I contacted them and asked if they had plans to add them… and if they had plans to add our Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
To my delight, they said they are working on both the Twin Cities area and trail systems right now… with a goal for both to be ready in February.
I signed up as the first Twin Cities Realtor to have this search and can hardly wait!
Click here to see a beta version of the Spatial Match search… look for the lifestyle layers on the right. It is still in development so no trails and properties yet, but hopefully next month…!
