A sure sign of spring in Minnesota is the sight of ball fields coming alive with softball/baseball leagues.
I tried to find a count of ball parks…number of teams/leagues…range of categories…all to no avail. The only number I found was that the Twins RBI serves 6,000 Twin Cities youth ages 13-18…and that is just a drop in the bucket. Every community has it ball fields…which are filled with ball players of all ages throughout the season.
Our son-in-law plays in a league that has already had a couple of games…he informed me they would definitely do better if I were to sponsor them!
Our grandson played his first t-ball game yesterday. There is nothing quite like watching the excitement of 5-year-olds playing ball! My favorite yesterday was watching our grandson pick up the ball in the field after a hit…then looking questioningly at his coach as if to say…"I got the ball, now what do I do with it?!"
