This is Wednesday, my day to be unplugged. Because it's New Year's Eve today we won't be having the family over for dinner tonight, but we will be following our tradition of having steak and shrimp fondue with friends…a perfect meal for a leisurely evening.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK
This week's recipe is so simple it's almost embarrassing to publish it. But since this is also becoming my repository for recipes I don't want to lose it is essential that I include it on New Year's Eve, the day when I always use it. Over the years I have tried many different recipes for meat fondue dipping sauce, some simple and some elaborate. But the one that always disappears is this one…I have used it for more than 30 years!
It's funny how traditions get started….another tradition of ours is having fresh pineapple with the meal. It started back in the 1970's when I was giving piano lessons. Students gave me a fresh pineapple, hand delivered from Hawaii…we served it with our fondue and it has stuck as an essential part of the menu!
