Wednesdays Unplugged – Oriental Salad

Waking up to a snow-dusted landscape this morning makes me ready for a cozy day inside… unplugged and cooking.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK

This weeks' recipe is one of those staples that has been floating around about as long as I can remember…quick, easy and delicious…one friend simply calls it "Good Chinese Salad".

ORIENTAL SALAD

  • 1 pound package shredded cabbage with carrots

  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced

  • 1 package Ramen noodles, broken (chicken flavor)

  • 1/2 cup salad oil

  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • sliced almonds

Mix seasoning packet from the Ramen noodles with salad oil and sugar. Saute small package of slivered almonds in small amount of oil. Mix cabbage and onions. Just before serving add noodles, oil mixture and almonds. Toss and serve.
