This great neighborhood eatery was introduced to us by our son a number of years ago and we have been loving it ever since. Pop! always seems to be busy, more than can be accounted for by simply being a neighborhood favorite. We're good examples…we live miles away in a different part of the city but still manage to make it a point stop occasionally at the corner of Johnson & 29th in Northeast Minneapolis…both to eat at Pop! and visit the great local bakery next door.
I was happy to learn that when Fhima restaurant closed in downtown St. Paul they courted Pop! to open another restaurant in its place rather than simply adding a popular chain restaurant which so often seems to be the case. I haven't been to their new location yet, but I hope it does well.
We were actually thinking of going to Pop! this evening with some friends, but realized it's Sunday…and the neighborhood restaurant is closed Sundays. Good food…reasonable prices…bright atmosphere. You don't have to live in the neighborhood to enjoy it, but it's a great neighborhood perk!
