Art & Music Festivals abound in the Twin Cities area throughout the the spring and summer months, and Golden Valley Days is one of the first. Golden Valley is also where I live, so I thought it only appropriate that I share a little about it and my community.
The festival is a typical community festival featuring music stages, art booths, kid activities, parade, antique car show, food vendors and fireworks. In spite of our erratic spring weather this year, we were fortunate to have a beautiful weekend for the festival!
Golden Valley, Minnesota, is a first ring suburb bordering the west side of Minneapolis next to Theodore Wirth Park. It is known in the business world as the home of General Mills. In the summer people gather around the fountain in the Town Square near city hall and the intersection of Highway 55 and Winnetka Blvd.
Bassett Creek meanders through the community…and through our back yard. 🙂 It’s so fun seeing spring finally bursting out all over!
