Memorial Day 2016… honoring those who gave up two lives, the one they were living and the one they would have lived

From Senator Al Franken…

On this Memorial Day, we honor those who have given their lives to keep all of us safe. As Ronald Reagan said, those who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our nation’s safety “gave up two lives—the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands, fathers, and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for our country, for us. And all we can do is remember."
