When I ran into a client at a concert he told me how much he was loving his new home. And as much as he loved the house itself, it was the community that he loved the most. Having lived in condos before, he said he realized that what he had been missing was being part of a neighborhood… a neighborhood where people are out mowing their lawns and shoveling their sidewalks… a place where you could walk to the corner coffee shop, bakery, pizzeria and they would know your name because you lived in the neighborhood.
Pizza Biga is in that kind of neighborhood, at 48th and Chicago in South Minneapolis. And the bonus about this neighborhood is that it is also just a couple blocks from beautiful Minnehaha Parkway.
It has an intimate, cozy vibe… good place to relax with a good fire-roasted pizza. Their Dan's Balsamic pizza is one of my favorite pizzas ever… balsamic vinegar, sausage, spinach, capicola, red onion and mozzarella… it is truly awesome!
The other awesome thing about Pizza Biga is Pumphouse Creamery is right next door, so you can have your pizza and homemade ice cream in one stop!
It always makes me smile when we stop there because about 25 years ago my husband and son helped a friend move in boxes of books for an out-of-print bookshop in the same storefront. It's a friendly, neighborhood corner.
