Ring Mountain Creamery Cafe… award winning homemade ice cream and gelato

I am a sucker for homemade ice cream regardless of the temperature outside. When my husband and I were looking for a place for a quick bite to eat in Eagan and came upon Ring Mountain Creamery Cafe it sounded familiar, like I had read about it somewhere. As it turns out, I had!

We stopped and had some creative fresh sandwiches and found people/families hanging out… had a coffee house feel, with artwork exhibited by a local artist. I wasn't surprised to learn that they have live music Friday nights… it has that 'neighborhood hangout' feel in an unlikely suburban strip mall setting.

It has been named 'Best Kept Secret', 'Best Date Spot', one of the 'Best Neighborhood Cafes', 'Best Coffee' and 'Best Dessert'. But for me, it's all the ice cream accolades they have received that really got me interested.

They have one case filled with fresh gelato… and another filled with homemade ice cream… how to choose!! I picked ice cream and my husband picked gelato… and we both won!

Locals would likely be amazed that Ring Mountain was a new discovery for me, but for anyone who has already hit all the city homemade ice cream shops and is looking for something new, I would recommend heading out to Ring Mountain Creamery and Cafe in Eagan for a great selection of homemade ice cream and gelato.  It is located at 1965 Cliff Lake Road, just north of where Highway 77 and I-35E cross north of Cliff Road.
