Wednesdays Unplugged – Pepperoni Bread

"Ah! There is nothing like staying at home, for real comfort." ~ Jane Austen

NOTE: I spend my Wednesdays Unplugged from appointments. It's my day to stay home, enjoy cooking and welcome our kids and grandkids for dinner in the evening. We end our meal with quotes from the Norwegian 'Quote Cup' passed on to me from my grandmother. I share a quote and a recipe here each week, and sometimes some photos of family fun. I love trying new recipes…and love getting recipes you would like to share.

Love that our grandson is learning to play the marimba, so cool for an 8-year-old! Our other grandson patiently drew on the 'white board' wall at the Kia dealership while his mom got a new car after her old one was totaled after being rear ended last week!  Just learned that school is cancelled again for tomorrow because of the cold… brrr!!! Another stay-at-home day.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK
I found this recipe when I was cleaning out my recipe piles after Christmas… I would guess I got it about 15 years ago from someone in the Elizabethan Syngers that I used to sing with at the Renaissance Festival. It was a hit!

PEPPERONI BREAD
  • Pepperoni bread1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed overnight
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 1/2 ounces pepperoni
  • 2 cups shredded Italian cheese mix

Roll dough into a 9 x 12 inch rectangle. Add seasonings to melted butter, brush about 1/2 of mixture on bread dough. Arrange pepperoni and top with cheese. Roll, brush with remaining butter mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
