Selling a Home – Required City Inspections

Inspect-magniyf-2 A number of cities in the Minneapolis metro area require a Truth-in-Sale-of-Housing or Point-of-Sale inspection when selling a home. See the chart below for cities with this requirement… click here for a chart with live links, including lists of common repairs for many cities compiled by independent evaluator Structure Tech Home Inspections.

Also be aware that some cities, such as Brooklyn Center, require an inspection for vacant properties prior to occupancy even if they don't require an inspection for the sale of an occupied property. If you are a buyer purchasing a vacant building, be sure to check into city ordinances.
