I explored a park I hadn't visited before yesterday, Carver Lake Park and Beach in Woodbury. The city has 3,100 acres of parks and open space, and this 150-acre park is part of that natural resource.
When I arrived yesterday there were several groups gathered in the park and pavilion area for picnics and parties and playground…and several groups were coming up from the beach area as rain clouds were rolling in.
The pretty, 40-acre deep lake is surrounded by hills. In fact, there were two trails to the beach area…one with steep hill warnings and the other with a more gradual slope. The beach area includes another play area, and although there are no lifeguards on duty swimming is permitted on the designated beach from 9 am to 8 pm daily. If you like to fish, the lake has a history of abundant northern pike…no fishing pier, but there is a boardwalk running along the shoreline that can be used for fishing.
What first attracted me to the park was the trails I noticed near a recent Woodbury townhome listing. My sellers told me about the wonderful park and miles of trails in their own backyard…part of the 115 miles of trails in the Woodbury parks and trails system.
