When I stopped by Fish Lake Regional Park about a week ago, just before leaving for a week in California, some leaves were still ablaze with color as evidenced in the photo above. I would guess if I were to visit again today there would be few leaves still to be found…what a difference a week makes at this time of year.
When I was there I found a fisherman coming to cast his line only to discover the fishing dock no longer accessible…he will have to come back for ice fishing when the lake freezes over.
This Maple Grove lake park is most popular in the summer with its swimming beach and boat access to Fish Lake, but is most beautiful in the fall when the leaves are ablaze with color. It features several miles of hiking trails and the 7.4 mile regional bike trail connecting it to Elm Creek Park Reserve is very popular. The newly remodeled pavilion is available for rental for groups up to 75 people year round.
